The Summer Academy at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering is a three-week engineering playground for really (really) smart high school students to learn about the states-of-the-art in robotics, nanotechnology, biotechnology and other such light and breezy subjects, while they get a taste of college life by living on campus. (How smart are these kids? Did you take physics, pre-calculus and program in C when you were in high school?) So the new website, brochure and direct mail we designed for the program had to appeal to this audience. But like Rosie the Robot, there’s more than just a pretty face behind the scenes of this design: we built the site in WordPress to make it easier to manage in-house, created a clear, simple, easy-to-navigate site and a fresh new type treatment for the name.
