Who wouldn’t have fun designing a site with a ’50s-style game show look? We followed the client’s vision and explored retro imagery and colors, then we added intense game show‒style titles to give the look and feel they were after.

Name That Language is a game built to study languages, improve teaching, and help computers work with language. How does it work? Well, you listen to short audio clips and try to identify the language spoken and get points for correct answers (we refuse to divulge our scores). The game generates data for research, but the University of Pennsylvania researchers who created it hope users find it fun, challenging, and educational. We harnessed that playfulness in our design.
